What is Counselling and How Will it Help Me?

Counselling is about opening your mind to new possibilities and helping you to lead a more fulfilling and happy life.

As your counsellor, I offer a special working relationship. You will not be judged or told what to do, but we will be working together to discover the best way forward for you.

Our first session will involve getting to know each other as our relationship is crucial to the work. I will also ask you a little about your background, but mainly we will look at why you have come and how I can help. What is most important is that you can begin making changes and feeling happier with your life and yourself. By contacting me you will be taking the first courageous step towards achieving these changes.

You will be given the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about counselling and my approach. Then, you can decide whether you think counselling is for you and whether you would like to return.

As well as running my private practice, I have also been involved in other projects. These include speaking at a number of Presentation Skills workshops, where I have spoken about how to overcome the fear of public speaking, as well as working with Surrey Divorce Solutions as an affiliate counsellor.

Integrative and Flexible Therapy

I work from an Integrative base, which means that I use a range of different styles. These include:

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Humanistic Counselling

Each client is unique. As a practitioner, I am able to offer you a flexible approach, where together we can discover what works best for you, and build a relationship, within which we can explore your difficulties together.

I offer short and long term, face to face counselling for younger and older adults in Dorking, and the surrounding areas.

Get started

I offer a FREE 30 MINUTE INITIAL CONSULTATION, as I understand that counselling can feel daunting, and you may be unsure if it is the right course of action for you. Appointments are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday daytime.
